Moving Toward Dynamic Technologies

Before taking the Principles of Distance Education class, I would say that I was about a 4 on the STATIC-DYNAMIC CONTINUUM.  I have been working with educational technology for a long time, and I would have said that I thought this was good.  After having taken this class, I am about an 8.5.  I am still stuck to STATIC a little bit, but I am seeing the importance of providing and using DYNAMIC tools for the students to learn. I have also found that I must be knowledgeable and skilled at using any technology tool that I bring into my curriculum, and the students must also be adept at learning online and at a distance.

  1. Hi Lewis,

Your concept map is full of innovations that I have never heard of, and I am really looking forward to learning more about them. I really need to step up my game and move in the direction of dynamic technologies. Great job and good luck with your final presentation!

  2. Hi Lewis,

I like how you created you concept map. And the innovations you identified are very insightful. I have not used many of them. Can you tell me which ones would be best in primary grades? I would also agree with you about the use of static and dynamic technology. If it had not been for Walden I would have never tried to develop a wikipage or blog. I use other's blogs and wikipages for information, but I have never contributed to these technologies until these courses. I am glad that I have openned my mind to how I can use these technologies in education. I wish you luck with your continued growth.
